Savour the magnificent organ at St John's Anglican Church, Camberwell
Zelman Symphony will feature the magnificent organ at St John’s Anglican Church in their third concert of season 2025. Opening with Boulanger’s D’un matin de printemps we evoke the freshness of spring through vibrant melodies, delicate harmonies, and rich orchestral textures.
With Calvin Bowman on Organ, Zelman Symphony will perform Poulenc’s concerto for Organ, Strings and Timpani, displaying the vibrant contrast between the organ's power and the orchestra’s subtlety.
The concert will conclude with Saint-Saëns’ monumental Organ Symphony. Composed in 1886, the work showcases the organ’s full range, from subtle harmonies to dramatic bursts of sound, creating a rich, resonant texture that contrasts with the orchestra.
