Eleanor Greenwood – soprano

Described as a 'thrilling voice', Eleanor Greenwood was a recent winner of the Opera Awards for Australian opera singers and has made recent role debuts including Floria Tosca in Puccini’s Tosca and the title role in Turandot.

Most recently, Eleanor reprised the role of Turandot in Kuala Lumpur at the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre, as part of Opera Asia Pacific.

Highlights include performing on the historic stage of the Alte Oper Frankfurt alongside world opera stars Elena Mosuc and Martin Muehle, in concert with the Thüringen Philharmonie, and appearing with legendary soprano Sumi Jo at the Festival of Outback Opera in Queensland, Australia.

In 2025, Eleanor sang at the Markgräfliches Opernhaus in Bayreuth, in a Richard Wagner Operngala, singing as Senta and Gerhilde.

In Australia, Eleanor received enthusiastic acclaim for her performances in the Bendigo Ring Cycle, appearing as Sieglinde (Die Walküre), Dritte Norn (Götterdämmerung), and Ortlinde (Die Walküre), as well as covering Freia (Das Rheingold).

In Queensland, she has performed with Opera Queensland and has sung with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre as well as various other venues throughout Queensland. She appeared as soprano soloist in Verdi’s magnificent Requiem at QPAC.

Eleanor was nominated for a Green Room Award for her portrayal of Elisabetta in Donizetti’s Maria Stuarda with Melbourne Opera.

Eleanor was seen in Sarah Gile's celebrated production of Rusalka in Queensland, covering the role of the Foreign Princess and singing as a Dryad.

Eleanor is a graduate of the Royal Academy of Music Opera School in London and the Australian National University School of Music in Canberra.
